Hatreon is a patron platform for creators, established in contradistinction to the inexcusable content policing of services like Patreon. These are Hatreon’s terms of use and apply to all users of the Hatreon website and mobile applications. “We,” “our,” or “us” refers to Hatreon. “Hatreon” also refers to this website and the services offered here.
By using Hatreon, you agree to these terms. You acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms. You also agree to our privacy policy, community guidelines and any other policies we post on Hatreon.
Hatreon is not responsible for the quality, timing or legality of content or rewards.
We may change these terms. If we make material changes that adversely affect your rights under these terms, we will let you know by posting an announcement on the site or sending you an email before the changes come into effect. Continuing to use Hatreon after a change to these terms means you accept the new terms.
Account Creation
When you register for an account you must provide us with accurate information. Inaccurate information may prevent us from being able to assist you with your account.
To register for an account you must be at least 13 years old. To give or receive pledges you must be at least 18 years old or have your parent’s permission.
You are responsible for anything that occurs when anyone is signed in to your account, as well as the security of the account. If you believe your account is compromised, you should contact us immediately.
User Conduct
You are responsible for all the activity on your account. If you do harmful things we may cancel your account. For example:
- Illegal Activities – Don’t break the law with your account or projects.
- Fraud – Don’t post information that is false or otherwise misleading.
- Impersonation – Don’t impersonate anyone or use someone else’s account.
- Spam – Don’t spam others or distribute unsolicited advertising material.
- Malware – Don’t use Hatreon to host or distribute, malicious or destructive software.
- Endorsement – Don’t claim endorsement by Hatreon without our prior written approval.
- Service Degradation – Don’t degrade others’ use of Hatreon.

Being a Patron
To become a patron, simply create an account, update your preferred payment method, and pledge to your chosen creator.
There are two types of pledges. One is a monthly subscription, where you pay creators per month. The other is a content subscription, where you pay creators for certain creations.
If you support a creator on a per month basis, then you are charged immediately at the time of the pledge for the full amount of the subscription. Beginning in the month after the month in which you made your initial pledge, your payment is batched with your other existing pledges and charged at the start of the month.
If you support a creator on a per creation basis, then you are charged for creations at the start of the month, following the month in which the creation was published. You can set a limit on the number of creations for which you may be charged in a single month.
For both per month and per creation support, you may cancel your pledge at any time.
If you are located in the EU, then VAT is added to the total charge. This is shown when you set up the initial pledge amount.
We may grant refunds at our sole discretion in exceptional circumstances.
We have no control over the quality, timing or legality of content or rewards. We do not grant refunds for failure to deliver rewards. We do attempt to screen for fraudulent creator pages, but cannot guarantee the identity of creators or the validity of any claims they make.
Being a Creator
To become a creator, you may convert your regular account to a creator account or directly make a creator account, and launch the page.
You may choose to charge patrons per month or per creation, in either case most payments are processed at the start of each month. We try to provide timely access to your funds, but you may occasionally experience delays in accessing your funds. We may also block payments for violations of the terms or compliance reasons. When payments are delayed or blocked we try to communicate the reasons to you promptly. In order to protect creators, we may block patrons’ payments if we believe them to be fraudulent.
Our fee is 5% of processed pledges. Payment processing fees vary based on the pledge amount, but are typically under 5% of the total amount you process across all patrons.
We do not handle most tax payments, but we collect tax identification information and report this to tax authorities as legally required. You are responsible for reporting any taxes.
We do not currently have a VAT policy but retain the right to charge for VAT should users from the EU be numerous enough.
Contribution License
By posting your Contributions to any part of Hatreon.us (Hatreon) or making Contributions accessible to Hatreon.us (Hatreon) by linking your account from Hatreon.us (Hatreon) to any of your social networking accounts, you automatically grant, and you represent and warrant that you have the right to grant, to us an unrestricted, unlimited, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, royalty-free, fully-paid, worldwide right, and license to host, use, copy, reproduce, disclose, sell, resell, publish, broadcast, retitle, archive, store, cache, publicly perform, publicly display, reformat, translate, transmit, excerpt (in whole or in part), and distribute such Contributions (including, without limitation, your image and voice) for any purpose, commercial, advertising, or otherwise, and to prepare derivative works of, or incorporate into other works, such Contributions, and grant and authorize sublicenses of the foregoing. The use and distribution may occur in any media format and through any media channels.
You also grant Hatreon.us (Hatreon) the right to enforce copyright protections and to file DMCA complaints on your behalf to any third-party websites, search engines, or other entities on the internet to protect your intellectual property rights. This enforcement does not constitute a transfer of ownership, and you retain full ownership of your Contributions.
This license will apply to any form, media, or technology now known or hereafter developed and includes our use of your name, company name, and franchise name, as applicable, and any of the trademarks, service marks, trade names, logos, and personal and commercial images you provide. You waive all moral rights in your Contributions, and you warrant that moral rights have not otherwise been asserted in your Contributions.
We do not assert any ownership over your Contributions. You retain full ownership of all of your We are not liable for any statements or representations in your Contributions provided by you in any area on Hatreon.us (Hatreon). You are solely responsible for your Contributions to Hatreon.us (Hatreon) and you expressly agree to exonerate us from any and all responsibility and to refrain from any legal action against us regarding your Contributions.
We have the right, in our sole and absolute discretion, to:
- Edit, redact, or otherwise change any Contributions.
- Re-categorize any Contributions to place them in more appropriate locations on Hatreon.us (Hatreon).
- Pre-screen or delete any Contributions at any time and for any reason, without notice.
We have no obligation to monitor your Contributions.
Hatreon’s Role
We only provide a platform for creators and patrons to interact. We do not screen or endorse any content on Hatreon. If you see content that violates these terms, then let us know and we may remove it.
In the interest of improving the service, we may add or remove features, and often test features with different subsets of our users. If we believe a feature is significantly different from these terms, then we explain those differences in the test.
With your permission, we may give other websites or services the ability to verify information about your Hatreon account or perform actions on your behalf. This permission is asked for when you connect your Hatreon account to these other websites or services.
Account Cancellation
You can permanently cancel your account at any time by sending an email to [email protected]. You can see what information is deleted and what we continue to store after the account is disabled in our privacy policy.
We can terminate or suspend your account at any time at our discretion. We can also cancel any pledges and remove any content or rewards at our discretion.
These terms remain in effect after your account is cancelled.
Your Content
By posting content to Hatreon you grant us a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, sublicensable, worldwide license to use, reproduce, distribute, perform, publicly display or prepare derivative works of your content. The purpose of this license is to allow us to operate Hatreon, promote Hatreon and promote your content on Hatreon. We are not trying to steal your content or use it in an exploitative way.
You may not post content that infringes on others’ intellectual property or proprietary rights.
Patrons should not use content posted by creators in any way not authorized by the creator.

Indemnity
You will indemnify us from all losses and liabilities, including legal fees, that arise from these terms or relate to your use of Hatreon. We reserve the right to exclusive control over the defense of a claim covered by this clause. If we use this right, then you will help us defend ourselves.
Your obligation to indemnify under this clause also applies to our affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents and third party service providers.
Warranty Disclaimer
Hatreon is provided “as is” and without warranty of any kind. Any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any other warranty is excluded to the greatest extent permitted by law.
The disclaimers of warranty under this clause also apply to our affiliates and third-party service providers.
Limit of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable to you for any incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising out of these terms, or your use or attempted use of Hatreon. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for damages is limited to the amount of money we have earned through your use of Hatreon. We are specifically not liable for loss associated with failure to deliver rewards and from losses caused by conflicting contractual agreements.
For this clause “we” and “our” is defined to include our affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents and third party service providers.
Dispute Resolution
If you have a problem please talk to us, but you are limited in how you can resolve disputes. You waive your right to trial by jury and your right to participate in a class action proceeding.
We encourage you to contact us if you have an issue. If a dispute does arise out of these terms or related to your use of Hatreon, and it cannot be resolved after you talk with us, then it must be resolved by arbitration.
This clause does not limit either party’s ability to seek injunctive or other equitable relief for disputes relating to intellectual property or proprietary data.
Governing Law
Any disputes with us must be resolved in Austin, Texas under Texas law.
Texas law, excluding its conflict of law provisions, governs these terms and all other Hatreon policies. If a lawsuit does arise, both parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in Austin, Texas.
Your Agreement
These terms are the final word on Hatreon’s policies.
These terms and any referenced policies are the entire agreement between you and us, and supersede all prior agreements. If any provision of these terms is held to be unenforceable, that provision is modified to the extent necessary to enforce it. If a provision cannot be modified, it is severed from these terms, and all other provisions remain in force. If either party fails to enforce a right provided by these terms, it does not waive the ability to enforce any rights in the future.
