So I made a mistake and got the Veritas Global extended warranty for my S4…besides the headache of not being able to get rental until after they approve and taking days to have someone go out to look…they finally approved the repair BUT said they would only cover what they think the repair should be. And the Audi dealer said I would have to pay the difference….
Any advise? I don’t see in the contract that say anything about only covering part of the cost.
After getting denied on several claims, I finally brought my vehicle back to the dealership where I originally bought the Veritas warranty. Let me just say โ your experience will completely depend on how hard your service writer is willing to work for you. The first guy I dealt with clearly wasnโt trying. He submitted the claim, got it denied, and shrugged it off, saying it was โVeritasโs decision, not his.โ Veritas even sent out an inspector, and somehow he didnโt approve a few items that were obviously failing.
I kept pushing back, pointing out that the failing parts were specifically listed as covered in the warranty. But Veritas kept using vague, confusing language to dodge responsibility. Eventually, I made enough noise to get the attention of the service manager. Thankfully, he took things seriously. He contacted Veritas himself and got their local rep in Sacramento involved. That rep came out, took his own pictures, and basically vouched for the repairs. I think the service manager even told them, โWe canโt be selling these warranties if youโre not going to stand behind them.โ
Apparently, that was the push we needed. After two weeks of back and forth, more got approved than we even expected. For context, we paid $2,950 for the Veritas warranty on a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan (we paid $13,500 for the vehicle). In the end, we got approved for around $5,300 in repairs โ including front and rear struts and shocks, the steering rack and pinion, sway bars and bushings, and even a cracked motor mount they found while working. My out-of-pocket cost? Just the $100 deductible.
So yeah, I did get the claim approved, but only after fighting tooth and nail with both Veritas and some unhelpful service staff. Would I ever buy another Veritas warranty? Honestly, no chance. The extended warranty on my GMC Yukon has been a breeze by comparison โ no pushback, no runaround. Just bring the car in, get it fixed, done. Big shoutout to Silveira GMC in Healdsburg for that!
So, I usually opt out of extended warranties, but when I purchased my A7 I went with a Veritas package just in case the proverbial shit hit the fan.
Well 4 months later, the Coolant Temperature Too High message pops up a couple of times and I take it in. The dealer says the water pump has an internal leak but Veritas is denying that it’s failed.
